Head and shoulders of a woman taking a shower. Focusing on how natural handmade body soap is a better option than body wash.

What is the Difference Between Body Wash & Body Soap?

Are you seeing the term Body Wash & Body Soap in the shops and just don't understand the difference?

More importantly, are you tired of harsh chemicals stripping your skin of its natural oils? Do you crave a gentle, soothing cleanse that leaves your skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated?

What is Body Wash?

Body wash is a liquid cleanser that typically comes in a bottle or pump dispenser. It is formulated with a combination of cleansing agents, moisturizers, and fragrances to create a bathing experience. Body washes often produce a rich lather that which is created from the detergents used to clean and create bubbles. Many commercial brands tend to use SLS or sulfate based surfactants and detergents to keep costs down.

Body washes are made to be moisturizing by adding additional ingredients, making them a good choice but it really depends on the formulation and amount of detergents that they use.

Body washes also come in a wide variety of scents, but they use synthetic fragrances and perfumes that can irritate or cause itching.

What is Body Soap (aka Natural Soaps)?

Body soap can be a solid bar soap or liquid soap, they are made from a combination of fats and oils. Here at Tsuki Soap, we use high quality moisturising oils like olive oil, sweet almond oil and rice bran oil that may cost more but are great for the skin!

It is created through a process called saponification, which involves mixing these ingredients with lye. Body soaps cleanse the skin by creating a lather when combined with water, removing dirt and impurities. They are made by this natural process and do not contain any detergents or SLS/sulfates.

Body natural handmade soaps, on the other hand, naturally contain glycerin and moisturising oils which make them a great option for all because they will clean well but do not dry out the skin.

Our natural Tsuki Soap soaps, are available unscented or use only natural essential oils which provide aromatherapy and natural therapeutic benefits.

What Makes Body Soap Different from Body Wash?

Body soap and body wash may seem similar at first glance, but there are key differences that set them apart. Our Tsuki Soap body soaps come in both bar and liquid form, offering you the flexibility to choose the format that best suits your preferences.

Unlike many commercial body washes that contain harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances, our body soaps are made with only natural ingredients and are committed to making them gentle and moisturising.
